Glory To GOD

Glory to God
Glory to God
Glory to God Forever (Yeah, Yeah)

Haha! The song Glory to God always reminds me of Ted now! Glory to God, Glory to God (repeat 5x)... It's very repetitive and maybe it's as deep as a kitty pool but I like it! Especially when we sing it with 2,000 other people at Impact!

So something crazy awesome happened a few weeks ago! We finished our Charity water well!! We raised $5,000! We have some awesome, amazing people at our church who helped us and we couldn't have done it without them!

So when I found out we did it, I called my cousin Travis. He was the one who told me about this charity and he really inspired me to do it! So I called him and told him and we were both so excited! He is actually planning to go to his well in Africa next summer (my mom said i could go too!! EEK!). So at the end of our little convo, I told him thanks so much for everything and he said something that i just totally blanked on for a second! "Glory to God." I was like, DUH YES! In all the excitement of the well finally being finished, I forgot that He had answered my prayer! God gave us an amazing opportunity to see His power and love and I still am so happy I got to see it! And it was PERFECT timing. There's an awful famine in the eastern parts of Africa and so many people are dying because they don't have food and water. It broke my heart to see pictures and videos of little children starving and dying, and there was nothing that could be done.

Our well is going to be built sometime soon who knows where! But it's going to save lives and change lives forever! Because of GOD. EEK! And.... I might be taking a trip to our well once it's finished! EEK EEK! I would LOVE to go and meet the people. Anybody wanna come with me? :)

Busy, Busy, Busy

This past week was my first week of school.  Senior year.  (Oh my goodness.  It's crazy!  I don't feel like a senior!  I'm too short to be a senior!)  And this it has been really tough for me!  Getting up at 6 in the morning?  Homework?  Gross school lunches?  WHAT!  When is summer break?

So, my schedule was all messed up (of course) and I had a crazy few days trying to figure out if I should take AP classes or stick with basketball and i decided basketball!!  I was really stressing out about it but I know I definitely made the right decision!  I absolutely love those girls on my team and I'd rather be with them everyday than in a boring English class!  They are great girls and I know I need to be there for them.  So, I got everything straightened out and I'm so relieved!

But I feel like I am getting very busy, very fast.  And I like being busy.  I'd rather be doing something than nothing!  And that's the bad thing.  Because I get too busy for important things!  Like reading my bible.  Talking to God.  And sleep!  This year I really want to grow in my relationship with God.  I want it to be stronger than ever before I go off to college!  Oh man. That is SO weird to think about.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31)

This verse is wonderful!  It really makes me feel a lot better because I know MY GOD has me in his hands!  He is going to give me strength to get through the days and He has given me great friends and a wonderful family to help me!

Me and some AMAZING girls are going to have a Girl Accountability Group! (GAG) Ha!  Just kidding!  But we are going to meet once a week to pray and I am so excited for it!  That is just what I need to stay on track and not lose sight of why I am here!  EEK.

Our Special Night

Usually, when you think of boys you think eww, gross, cooties!  Well, most of them are!  But, this past Tuesday the boys in our youth group really did a great job of making us girls feel special!  They planned a whole dinner for us and we made the desserts!
First, all the high school girls came to our house to make desserts for the night!  We had so much fun cooking in the kitchen and it smelled really good.  We made strawberry fruit pizza, cherry cobbler, tons of different kinds of brownies, and cheesecake!
After we finished making the desserts, we all went to get dolled up!  We spent a whole two hours on hair and make-up and of course dancing!  Whenever the girls get together you know we are gonna be dancing!  We took some silly pictures then went on our way to have dinner!
We were lookin good!

So we went to the church and waited for the surprise!  When the boys said they were ready, they led us in one by one to be seated at our table!  The room looked amazing!!  Right when we came in the door we were greeted by our new youth minister's (Scott!) little boy, Lincoln, and he gave every girl a rose!  It was precious!  Each table was candle-lit and it looked so nice!

I felt like I was at a restaurant and the service was great!  Our boys really surprised us!  They did such a good job!  The food was great- very fancy! We had a nice salad for an appetizer and bread with olive oil!  We had flounder, asparagus (which is kinda good!), and potatoes.  It was very yummy!  And I think they liked our desserts too!  Thank you boys for being gentlemen!

SO EXCITED

So today I made an announcement in BIG church for charity water!  I was so scared to talk in front of everybody!  As my time was coming closer, my friends had to hold my hands to calm me down because I was shaking so bad!  I almost had a meltdown.  Mr. Tom gave me the famous nod to come up to the front because I was almost up.  So I went up to the podium and... it was a success!  We raised over $1,000 today just from t-shirt and water bottle sales and donations!!  I'm so thankful for all the great people in my church!   Now we are 73% of the way done!  And we still have 59 days left!  I'm so excited to be a part of this project and I can't wait for this well to be built!

Here We Go!

So I'm kinda new at this blogging stuff but i thought it would be really fun and interesting to write things down that I'm thinking about or whatever!

Something I have been passionate about lately is an organization called charity:water.  It is an awesome thing!  They raise money and build fresh water wells for people in third-world countries who walk miles to get to a little muddy water hole.  Water is something we can't survive without and people are dying everyday because they do not have clean water!  That's just crazy!  Here I am taking my time in a hot shower, drinking clean water whenever I want, and wasting it!  People are very unaware of what is going on in different parts of the world and I think it is our job as Christians to do something about it!
My awesome cousin Travis was the one who told me about charity:water and he and his friends raised over $5,000 to build a well!  So, I thought my youth group could do the same!  So far we have raised over $2,000 which is awesome!  We still need $3,000 and with God's help I know we can do it!  But we also need everyone else's help too.  :)
